01 March, 2024
Welcome to our monthly studio newsletter. The first of every month we will be sending out studio updates, work updates, and other fun tidbits.
It is Women’s History Month AND 08 March is International Women’s Day so our focus is women this month.
While every woman who worked and continues to work toward gender equality on all fronts needs a big shout-out, I want to also shout out the MEN in history that helped along the way. Frederick Douglass attended the first woman’s rights convention in Seneca Falls, NY and spoke passionately about suffrage. And Daniel Anthony who was an inspiration for his daughter Susan B Anthony and supported all her efforts including guaranteeing her an education beyond what was legal at the time. Matthew Vassar who founded Vassar College for the higher education of women. And, Senator Aaron A Sargent who proposed the first joint resolution for women’s suffrage that failed but those 29 words later became the 14th Amendment!
So, brava to the women who have paved the way to here and now. And brava for those of us still fighting harder than ever to regain the ground recently lost in the goal to getting back on track to equality. But, bravo to the men who stand shoulder to shoulder with women.

Our piece "Shattered Vessel" was included in the Main Street Arts Small Works Show last year at Mainstreet Arts, Clifton Springs, NY. This quiet little piece carries the weight of the continuing impact of The Dobbs Decision on all women in the US. For more information or to see more Tiny Things visit our website.
